Logistics, progress and development: three words connected by a strong link, in Puglia more than anywhere else because of its strategic geo-logistic network consisting in ports, interports, routes, railways and airports.
The regional logistic system represents an essential advanced tool for all productive departments in the Region.
Current business constantly requires innovative approaches and efficient solutions in order to face and win future challenges and, therefore, companies will seek for expert personnel with those specific logistics competencies.
ITS for Logistics, supported by Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research and Puglia Region itself, is a post-high school diploma specialization course, characterized by an extremely pragmatic training to guarantee a prompt integration into employment.
ITS school represents “the segment of tertiary education” not-university related; in fact it consists in “prominent opportunities to express innovative strategies which link institution policy, education and employment with Italian industrial policies”.
Each course is 2 years long, 4 semesters totally, 1800 hours, 600 hours of them allocated to internship activities in network companies and 220 hours dedicated to formative workshops.
A perfect synergy between education and employment, high-technical specialization and business demand: this is the recipe able to shape well-rounded specialists, ready to join one of our network companies or other business entities in this uprising sector. Thanks to a teaching approach focused on operative skills, set on the concrete achievement of working projects, as well as on the analysis of real business cases and evidences, students will be able to face similar situations when needed during their future working carriers.
Lectures will be given by teachers from different backgrounds: 20% of them from universities, 20% from schools and 60% from business and consulting companies; in addiction, Professors must have at least 5 years of experience in the role.
At the end of ITS academic schedules, the new-born specialist will boast general competences on intermodal transport cycle, functional connection and integration and infrastructural and operative systems. Moreover, he will boast specific skills on how to interact with the other professional actors in every phase of the logistic production chain, involved into the flow of vehicles, people and goods. The specialist will also be trained to be competent in customs procedures, goods delivery note and service provision during the process through quality system.
Logistics ITS training path will give students specific competences on:
- Planning, organizing and monitoring intermodal services and techno-operative systems for goods and people;
- Operating on the logistic production line for the management of cargoes and resources to guarantee transport effectiveness of products and people;
- Arranging, controlling and coping with information and documents of wares and people.
